Internship

Internship is a crucial learning phase for trainees as they stand to greatly benefit from valuable work experience. It is also a One of the strategies to meet the employer’s staffing needs from time to time. Newmark is a very versatile company offering very specialized services in a competitive environment and we offer internship opportunities  to individuals willing to sharpen their skills in:

Guiding Principles

Internship will be offered only in line with Newmark’s activities;

A restricted  number  of interns would be allowed  at Newmark  at any given period of time taking into account  considerations  of  space,  mentorship  and  equipment.  No  more  than  Two  (3)  interns  will  be deployed;

In  a  situation  where  there  are  many  students  seeking  for  internship,  a  short  list  and  interviews  of candidates shall be conducted and managed by a panel composed of the office Managing Director. The panel  will  have  the  responsibility  of  allocating internship  assignments  based  on  competencies  and prevailing needs;

Internship applications may be submitted via mail;

Other  internships   may  be  established   through  the  year  based  on  requirements.   Requests  for  the engagement of an intern will be made through consultation with the General Manager;

Interns will be assigned to one of the officers or to the General Manager for supervision throughout the internship period.

 

Administration of the Policy

Newmark shall enter into a contract with an intern following a successful application;    The contract will be binding to both parties for the duration of the internship;

The application of the intern shall be backed up by a supporting document from his/her institution;

The contract period shall range between a minimum of two (2) months and a maximum of twelve (12)

months.

Interns  must  receive  a proper  orientation,  which  must  include  both  the values,  procedures  and  work practices of Newmark Kenya

Interns will be expected to adhere to all Newmark regulations, policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities of Newmark

  Newmark shall provide the intern with a conducive working environment

  Newmark shall provide the intern with working space;

  Newmark shall provide requisite equipment for her/his internship and mentoring.

 

Responsibilities of the Intern

The  intern  shall  demonstrate  willingness  to fully  and  actively  participate  in the learning  experience  at

Newmark Kenya by planning their programme with the line supervisor;
